Opening Hours
Open 7 days a week: 8:00–10:00am and 4:00–6:00pm.
1) Boarding guests, we recommend drop-off and pick-up between 9:00–10:00am or 4:30–5:30pm.
– Boarding dogs, there is a minimum 2-day charge. Charges are per full day, regardless of drop-off or pick-up time.
2) Reception closed: Easter Sunday, Christmas Day & New Year’s Day.
(No drop-offs or pick-ups on these days — please arrange the day before or after.)
3) Health and Vaccinations:
It is a condition that before any dog is accepted they must have:
Up-to-date vaccinations Parvo & Canine Cough (including yearly booster shots)
Provide Lucky Dog with proof of vaccination records (vet book, print out or email from vet)
Current flea and worm treatments are uptodate
Please ensure your dog’s vaccinations are current and will not expire during their stay. If a booster is due, please arrange for it to be administered before arrival.
We reserve the right to decline to accept dogs into the facility if your dog does not
comply with the above requirements.
4) Medical and Behavioural Disclosure:
It is essential that owners disclose their dog’s complete medical and behavioural history to ensure their safety and well-being during their stay. Please inform us of any pre-existing conditions, allergies, fears, or behavioural issues.
5) Acceptance of Dogs
When checking your dog into Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels, if it is determined that your dog is unwell, injured or poses a risk to staff or other dogs, Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels reserves the right to decline to accept your dog at its sole discretion.
6) Emergency Veterinary Care, Liability & Owner Responsibility:
Owners must provide at least one emergency contact who is authorised to make decisions on their behalf. If no contact is available or cannot be reached, Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels reserves the right to authorise limited emergency treatment to stabilise your dog’s condition at
the owner’s cost.
Owners may nominate a veterinary treatment budget of up to $500 or $1,000, to be used at the discretion of the attending veterinarian.
In the event of illness, injury, or medical concern during your dog’s stay, you agree Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels may seek immediate veterinary care without prior consultation if necessary.
The decision of the attending veterinarian will be final in treatment decisions in the event of
serious illness or injury if the owner cannot be contacted.
By boarding your pet with us, you consent to the above terms and agree to pay the cost of
veterinary treatment for your dog and all associated costs, including a $40 transport fee per trip.
We will endeavour to use your regular veterinarian but reserve the right to use Paws Veterinary Clinic or another local provider if required.
7) By boarding your dog with us, you acknowledge and accept that:
Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels and its staff are not liable for any injury, illness, or death that may occur during your dog’s stay.
All veterinary and transport costs incurred during or after the stay are the responsibility of the owner.
Owners are liable for any damage caused by their dog to property.
*For boarding dogs, there is a minimum 2-day charge.

While we take every reasonable precaution to ensure your dog’s safety and wellbeing, some risk is inherent in any kennel or group environment. Your transparency regarding your pet’s health and behaviour allows us to provide the safest possible care.
8) Pet Insurance (Highly Recommended):
While we take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of all dogs in our care, we strongly recommend that owners have current pet insurance in place.
In the event of an emergency, this can help cover the cost of any unexpected veterinary treatment.
Please note that while we do our best to monitor all dogs closely, it is not possible to provide constant supervision 24/7. By boarding your pet with us, you acknowledge and accept this limitation.
Should veterinary care be required during your dog’s stay, we will ensure timely and appropriate treatment is provided. Any and all costs associated with this care are the responsibility of the owner as above.
9) Food Treats and Allergies:
To ensure your pet’s safety and comfort: Please inform us of any food allergies or sensitivities, as we use treats in our care.
Daycare: We do not provide meals, unless supplied by owners.
Boarding: Unless your pet has specific veterinary-prescribed dietary needs or requires a raw diet.
We provide premium Royal Canin food. If you prefer to supply your own food, please bring enough for the duration of their stay, plus a few extra days.
12) Photography and Videography:
Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels may take photos and videos of dogs in our care for marketing or educational purposes. If you prefer your pet not be included, please inform our staff at drop-off.
13) Indemnity by using Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels Services:
Owners agree to indemnify and hold harmless: Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels, Its directors, shareholders, employees, and contractors. Against any and all liability, claims, suits, actions, loss, injury, or damage of any nature or kind, including but not limited to:
Any liability, claims, suits, actions, loss, injury, or damage sustained by your dog(s)
Any liability, claims, suits, actions, loss, injury, or damage caused by your dog(s) to other
This indemnity agreement applies to all services provided by Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels.
This indemnity shall survive the termination of services and does not limit any other rights or remedies available to Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels.
14) Abandoned Pets:
If your pet is not collected within 10 days of the scheduled pick-up date, we reserve the right to consider them abandoned. In such cases, we may rehome your pet to ensure their continued care and well-being. Please note that every effort will be made to contact owners before taking such action. It is essential to keep us informed of any changes to your pick-up schedule. Owners may be liable for any costs associated with the continued care or rehoming process.
15) Female Dogs in Season:
Please note that female dogs in season will not be accepted for boarding without prior discussion and approval from our staff. If approved, a $10 per day surcharge will apply.
16) Entire Males:
Surcharge of $10/day applies for entire males 12 months and older.
17) Public Holiday:
Surcharge $10/dog surcharge applies on public holidays.
18) Aggressive or Unsocial Dogs:
Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels reserves the right to refuse or isolate any dog that displays aggressive behavior or poses a risk to staff, other animals, or property. Dogs that are unable to safely socialize with others will incur a $10 per day surcharge. Please note that during peak periods, capacity for dogs requiring individual care is limited, and bookings may not be accepted.
19) Boarding Fees, Deposit & Cancellations
A 30% deposit is required for all holiday bookings.
Christmas & New Year bookings: Deposit must be paid by 1st October.
20) Refunds & Credits
4+ weeks’ notice: Full refund or credit.
2–4 weeks’ notice: 50% refund or credit.
Less than 14 days: No refund or credit unless we fill your space.
21) Daycare Cancellations
More than 24 hrs’ notice: No fee.
Less than 24 hrs’ notice: Full daycare fee charged.
(Must be paid before or on your next visit.)
22) Repeated Cancellations / No-Shows
Repeated cancellations or no-shows may incur a $35 admin fee.
This must be paid before new bookings can be confirmed.
23) Early Pick-Up or Booking Changes
No refund for early pick-up unless approved before drop-off.
Full booking fee applies if approval isn’t given.
We’ll try to help with changes, but late changes or cancellations may still be charged if we can’t fill your space.
24) Payment Terms:
New clients: Payment in full before or on drop-off
Payment in full before pet release, unless otherwise agreed upon
Accepted payment methods: Stripe, Eftpos, Internet banking, Cash
25) Late Payment, Debt Collection & Acknowledgement:
In the event of overdue payments, Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels reserves the right to:
Apply late payment interest to accounts more than 30 days overdue, at a rate of 2% per month, calculated daily until the balance is paid in full.
Transfer your details to a third-party debt collection agency to recover the outstanding amount.
On-charge any associated costs incurred in the recovery process, including agency fees and legal expenses.
By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to these debt collection terms.
26) Price Changes:
Please note that our prices are subject to change with a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice.
27) Alteration of Terms:
Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels reserve the right to alter these Terms and Conditions with 14 days’ notice.
28) Risk Acknowledgement:
Clients enter the premises of Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels at their own risk.
By entering the property, clients acknowledge and accept that Go Lucky Ltd, trading as Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels, is not liable for any injury, death, loss, or damage to any person, animal, or property that may occur.
This includes, but is not limited to, incidents involving other animals, the environment, or interactions with staff.
By doing so, clients expressly release and discharge Lucky Dog Boarding Kennels, its owners, and staff from all liability arising from such risks.
29) Governing Law The Agreement and these Terms and Conditions will be deemed to be made in New Zealand and will be construed and governed by the laws of New Zealand.
30) While we take every precaution to ensure your dog’s safety, boarding is at the owner’s own risk.
